It is considered the degree of scientific development issues studying history periodical press Kalmykia, including formation and journal periodicals. The creation first Kalmyk magazine “Bulletin Oirats” analyzed, prerequisites for organization and, in general, specific features journalism national region are noted. content published was studied, contribution to science, education, culture steppe thematic analysis given, qualitative composition authors, publication value determined.
